Special Programs
Hughston Explorer Post The Explorer Post is a co-ed career based program for youth in the ninth through twelfth grades and is an affiliate of the Boys Scouts of America. Although emphasizing careers is a major aspect of Exploring, there are many other important features, such as helping young adults develop leadership skills. Students will also learn team building, public speaking, interviewing and time management. |

Volunteers at Hughston Hospital are a vital part of our patient care team and provide priceless contributions to the well-bring of patients, families and staff. Whether you are a recent retiree looking to fill your time, a professional looking to give back, or a student who is interested in community service, Hughston Hospital encourages you to volunteer. We will work with you to find work that will use your special skills to their fullest. Volunteers work between 4 to 40 hours per week and play a vital role in meeting the non-medical needs of our patients. Volunteer opportunities are available for both adults and teens. |
Foundation Information
Founded in 1968, The Hughston Foundation is a non-profit research and educational organization located on a privately supported medical campus in Columbus, Georgia. The campus also includes an orthopaedic clinic, an orthopaedic hospital, a rehabilitation center, and physical fitness facilities that provide clinical and technical resources for the Foundation. The Hughston Foundation is the vehicle for the vision of Hughston. Its mission is to help people in all walks of life attain the highest possible levels of musculoskeletal health, fitness, and athletic prowess by providing national and international leadership in orthopaedic and sports medicine research, education, and communication. A Board of Directors along with the Executive Director governs and provides direction for the Foundation. Donations help support education, research, and communication divisions. |
