In 2009 Kendall Medical Center earned The Distinguished Hospital Award for Overall Clinical Excellence from HealthGrades, the largest independent healthcare ratings organization in the nation. This recognition places the facility among the Top 5% of hospitals in the country. HealthGrades also recognized Kendall Regional with Clinical Excellence Awards in six specialties: Stroke Care, Pulmonary Care, Critical Care, Cardiac Care, Coronary Interventional Care and Maternity Care. The Stroke Program at Kendall Regional Medical Center is one of only two and the first in South Miami- Dade County to earn the Joint Commission Primary Stroke Center Certification Program Gold Seal of Approval for healthcare quali past year, the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association honored Kendall Regional Medical Center's Stroke Program with the "Get with the GuidelinesSM" Bronze Stroke Award. Additionally, Kendall Regional is an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI by The Society of Chest Pain Centers. |
Volunteer Information
Volunteer Opportunities Kendall Regional Medical Center is in need of volunteers to assist in all areas including office as well as patient care. Volunteers must be 15 years of age or older, submit to a background check, and must complete a minimum 300 hours of community service. For more information please call (305) 229-2420. Procedure for all Volunteer Candidates: Obtain a copy of your vaccination records. (required for all volunteers born after 1955) Obtain a copy of a Tuberculosis Test done within this year. Schedule an interview with Volunteer Services Director by calling (305) 229-2420 or e-mailing claudio.gonzalez@ , to discuss requirements and placements. Parent or legal guardian must be present to sign consent form, authorizing Kendall Regional Medical Center, to conduct a background investigation on volunteer candidate. Once the background investigation is cleared, the volunteer candidate will be notified of the next available orientation. High School students at the time of the interview, must bring a "Proposal For Comunity Services Project Form", from the Guidance Counselor at school. The role of the volunteers in the hospital is to assist us in achieving the hospital's Mission which is to deliver quality, compassionate, and cost effective Healthcare services, in a safe environment, through operational excellence to our West Dade residents, recognizing the cultural diversity of our employees and the Community we serve. |
