Co-sponsorship Vision Statement In the tradition of the Sisters of the Resurrection and the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, we desire to recreate our healing ministries through a co-sponsored Catholic system of care. Through this collaborative effort, we continue the healing mission that Jesus entrusted to the Church. We commit ourselves, the System and its components to promote health and wholeness. Our service will be characterized by professional excellence, effective stewardship of resources, and will be offered in an atmosphere of compassion, hospitality and respect for the dignity of each person involved in the caring and healing process. |

Teaching Programs
Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center helps train today's students to be tomorrow's health care givers. Nursing, nursing aide, radiology, pharmacy and physical therapy students gain clinical experience at the medical center under the direction of instructors. |
Special Programs
Imaging Services Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center offers a full range of advanced imaging services help to detect, evaluate and treat diseases and injuries. The latest in magnetic resonance imaging, the 3T MRI, is a powerful diagnostic imaging system that enables faster, clearly defined exams that capture intricate details in high definition images and includes Breast MRI. The 64-slice CT (computerized tomography) provides unprecedented speed, clarity and resolution for a variety of studies. Additional services include: general x-rays, diagnostic radiology, interventional radiology, bone density (DEXA) scanning, mammography, stereotactic breast biopsy, ultrasound, fluoroscopy, nuclear medicine, and nuclear cardiology. Cardiac Services Comprehensive testing, diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation as well as individualized treatment plans are developed to meet each patient's needs. Through the Pacemaker/Cardiac Device Clinic, patients receive evaluation and monitoring of their cardiac devices. In the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation Program, patients receive education, exercise and direction on living a healthier lifestyle. Orthopedics and Musculoskeletal Injury Management Board-certified orthopedic physicians use advanced technology to treat injuries involving bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and nerves. Services range from minimally invasive arthroscopic surgeries to total joint replacements. Hand and Reconstructive Surgery Board-certified hand surgeons treat hand, wrist and elbow injuries and develop customized treatment plans for best healing. Using advanced technologies, procedures performed include arthroscopic and reconstructive surgery. Cosmetic and Reconstructive Surgery Services Board-certified surgeons use the most effective and safest advances in technology to achieve the best possible results. Cosmetic procedures include: facial rejuvenation, body contouring, breast enhancement and rhinoplasty/nose reshaping Pain Management Clinic Board-certified physicians take a comprehensive approach to pain management and use a wide range of strategies to meet the specific needs of each patient. Common pain conditions include: acute and chronic pain syndromes, spine pain (back and neck), cancer pain management, nerve injury pain syndromes, chronic headaches and myofascial syndromes. Memory Disorder Center At the center, individuals who experience memory loss or have behavioral problems related to dementia will receive diagnostic evaluation and follow-up as well as comprehensive clinical services and support. Wound Care Clinic Individualized treatment plans that incorporate the best practices in wound care management are developed to aggressively treat a variety of wounds. Wound care specialists work together to heal wounds and help individuals improve their quality of life. Diabetes Self-Management Program This program provides diabetics with the knowledge, skills and emotional support needed to manage their diabetes. A multidisciplinary team offers assistance with nutrition, medication, blood-glucose monitoring and exercise. Center for Bloodless Medicine The center provides treatment for patients who, for various reasons, choose not to receive blood or blood products as part of their medical procedure. |

Language Assistance - Clear and accurate health information is essential to the delivery of quality compassionate health care. To help assure the highest quality patient care, Polish and Spanish trained medical interpreters are available to assist these growing patient populations and their families. Also available are: qualified telephonic medical interpreters in 180 languages; American Sign Language medical interpreters and TTY/TTD phone lines for the hearing impaired. Free Wi-Fi Access – Browse the Internet, check email, send and receive messages. The Gift Shop – Offers gifts, flowers, snacks, beverages, sundry items and newspapers for purchase. The OLR Café – Includes hot and cold entrees and is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Meditation Room – Available for quiet time and reflection. The Chapel - Mass is offered Sunday through Friday and services are televised to patients' rooms. Automated Teller (ATM) - A Bank of America ATM is available. Notary Public -A notary public is available to notarize patients' important documents. |
Parking
Free Parking Free parking is available in the garage located on Addison directly across the street from the hospital. Sky Bridge An overhead, enclosed walkway between the parking garage and hospital provides safety in walking across Addison Street. Public Transportation Located at the intersection of Addison St. and Central Ave., Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center is accessible by public transportation via the Chicago Transit Authority 152 Addison St. and 85 Central Ave. bus routes. |

Volunteer Information
Volunteers at Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center are special people, called to this service of healing — where the gift, the power and the worth of one person's care for another is as important as the technology we use in the healing process. Volunteers have been providing support for staff, patients and their families since 1968. They work under the direction of the volunteer director or a member of the professional or nursing staff and serve in almost every area of the medical center. |
Foundation Information
The mission of the Resurrection Health Care Foundation is to build relationships and develop partnerships across Chicago to enhance Catholic-sponsored health care services to all who need them. The foundation is an Illinois not-for-profit corporation organized to solicit, receive and account for charitable contributions that benefit all Resurrection Health Care entities. |
Community Outreach & Activites
For 10 years now, Our Lady of the Resurrection Medical Center has co-sponsored an autumn "Fall into Fitness 5K Run/Walk" with 38th Ward Alderman Tom Allen to promote health awareness and community camaraderie. The event draws participants from local city neighborhoods and the suburbs with more than 1,000 registrants in 2009. The medical center offers ongoing free health screenings, programs and physician lectures to meet the health needs of the area's diverse community populations with nearly 7,200 attendees in a recent year. A sample of varied offerings include: screenings for cholesterol, skin cancer, feet, hearing, diabetes, and blood pressure; lectures on memory loss, joint replacement, menopause, blood clots, and breast health; support groups for diabetes, epilepsy and arthritis; and special programs for heart care, healthy aging and living a healthier lifestyle. |
