Westside Regional Medical Center (WRMC) has earned the Joint Commission designation as a Primary Stroke Center and an accredited Chest Pain Center. The Joint Commission's Certificate of Distinction for Primary Stroke Centers recognizes WRMC in making exceptional efforts to foster better outcomes for stroke care.

WRMC has also been granted accreditation as a Chest Pain Center by the Society of Chest Pain Centers. To earn status as a Chest Pain Center, hospitals receiving accreditation must successfully complete the Society's formal process in various critical care areas.

WRMC's Cancer Program received certificate of approval with commendation from the American College of Surgeons, Commission on Cancer (CoC), through 2010. By following the 36 standards set by the CoC, WRMC was accredited, thus demonstrating the ongoing commitment to providing highquality, multidisciplinary cancer care.

And WRMC's Cancer Registry was the recipient of the 2008 Jean Byers Award for Excellence in Cancer Registration for the 2006 data. The Cancer Registry was diligent in identifying, abstracting and submitting all reportable cases to the Florida Cancer Data System.

Sleep Center

The specialists at Westside Regional Medical Center's Sleep Disorder Center are trained in the diagnosis and treatment of sleep disorders. Our sleep lab is complete with a private bedroom, queen-size bed, cable television and a separate patient lounge, as well as state-of-the art diagnostic equipment that enables our experts to monitor your brain valves and other functions as you sleep.
