Teaching Programs
The Education Center at Cookeville Regional Medical Center was created to provide the following services: employee education, community health education, and educational support for healthcare professionals and the general community. Employee programs include professional development courses, clinical and performance competency courses and customer service skill development. Our community health education programs emphasize trauma and injury prevention information for all ages. The CRMC Education Center is an authorized Training Center of both the American Heart Association and the American Safety and Health Institute. The hospital provides administrative support and resources for all regional AHA and ASHI Instructors and coordinates all levels of basic and advanced cardiac life support courses, including BLS, ACLS and PALS. Special Programs
The Sleep Center at Cookeville Regional can help people afflicted by sleep disorders get a good night's sleep again. Our Sleep Center uses technology to provide diagnosis and treatment of sleep problems, and our trained professionals are dedicated to determining the causes and treatments of specific problems. |

The Children's Centerat Cookeville Regional is a new 8200 square foot facility designed to meet the highest standards for health and safety in childcare. Licensed for 98 children from the ages of six weeks to five years, The Children's Center staff offers a complete curriculum for the children in their care. |
Volunteer Information
Interested in volunteering? Join a team of over 125 members who assist employees and patients in various areas of the hospital as well as manage the Gift Shop, Lifeline, and conduct various fundraisers throughout the year to fund projects to benefit CRMC patients and visitors. |
Directions/Features of Surrounding Area
Cookeville is located in an area known as the Upper Cumberland just north of Interstate 40. Cookeville is approximately 80 miles east of Nashville and 101 miles west of Knoxville. Putnam County encompasses 408 square miles while Cookeville's land area is about 20.4 square miles. Cookeville has a population of about 26,000 and is surrounded by a few smaller communities: Algood (2,911), Baxter (1,434), and Monterey (2,872). With warm summers, mild winters, and breezy falls, Cookeville's weather promises to delight. The average annual tempature is 57°, dipping to an average of 37° in January and rising to a warm average of 88° in July. The average annual precipitation for this area is 51". The average annaul snowfall is 8". Of course there is an abundance of recreational events and activities. Cookeville is located within minutes of three of the most beautiful lakes in Tennessee -- Dale Hollow, Center Hill, and Cordell Hull. These lakes offer endless activities including swimming, canoeing, fishing, camping, and hiking. There are numerous parks, picnic areas, and playgrounds. For that sports person there are many tennis and racquet ball courts golf courses, and playing fields. Additionally, Hidden Hollow's petting zoo promises to thrill and entertain both adults and children. |
