The Emergency Room is only an aid station. If entering hospital for help in a traumatic emergency then go to another hospital. Sevier Va. Hosp has NO idea what the term "trama center" means. I was treated horribly in malpractice for a broken hip, left along for long periods of time, laid in a cubicle for 5 hrs before being transferred to surgical suite. One man was in cubicle next to me and discharged soon after I arrived, woman on other side had been having nose bleeds, but this had ceased and she was only being observed. Staff was hardly overworked, but lazy and entitled to behave in whatever rude manner they wanted to was their common attitude. I was asked if I wanted pain med when surgeon finally arrived, in front of surgeon and my friend who stood there with me all day along with her 17 year old daughter, I stated I did not want any morphine to nurse and doctor and my friends because morphine compromises the ability to breath. Nurse said she had something else that was not morphine. She administered this alternative pain medication into I V. After discharge I obtained all my records from the hospital. Nurse ignored my refusal of morphine and administered Dilaudid instead. I researched Dilaudid and learned it is another brand name for Morphine. Patient Rights Go Out The Window at This Place. Staff is basically inept. Go to a facility with more than 27 beds and a staff that is not unqualified so called professionals from the bottom of the barrel. I found them to be ignorant selfish bullies. |
