The Oklahoma Surgical Hospital, formerly the Orthopedic Hospital of Oklahoma, provides inpatient and outpatient services for most surgical procedures including orthopedics, neurosurgery, general surgery, urology, gynecology and ENT. The hospital was established in 2001 by local physicians with a vision to create and maintain a patient-focused surgical hospital with physician input into the management of clinical care and hospital operations. This endeavor has led to an improved practice environment for clinicians and employees, and resulted in superior patient outcomes and satisfaction. The hospital is currently licensed for 41 inpatient beds and 15 operating rooms, and also operates a Pain Management Center, an Imaging Center, and four outpatient Physical Therapy Centers. The Oklahoma Surgical Hospital staffs one nurse and one nursing tech to every five patients, which is comparatively lower than other hospitals in the community. OSH embraces the highest standards in patient care and clinical outcomes. This has resulted in shorter lengths of stay for patients, a significantly lower surgical site infection rate compared to national averages, and being rated by HealthGrades, a national healthcare ranking firm, as among the top 5% of hospitals in the nation for Joint Replacement. OSH combines their focus on clinical excellence with their emphasis on personalized service to achieve their mission, which is to ensure that the overall patient experience will exceed expectations.
