I had a bad, deep cut in one finger at work. Broke a blood vessel and could not stop the bleeding. Went to the a near Care Center which does Work Comp for my employer. They did stitching but did not quite stop the bleeding. Recommended going to Emergency at this hospital. Walked in with my Boss. They could not understand Work Comp. had to call the employer. Had an unsolicited X-ray, and tetanus shot before even looking at the cut. I protested but said those were their orders. Finally after an hour some one came to look at the cut. It had stopped bleeding by then, so he simply rinsed it and put a Band-Aid and finally I could get out. They have kept sending me the bills, which I passed to my employer and Workers Comp. The total; $2000 for the Hospital, $24 for the X-ray, and $800 for the Physician that put on the band aid. A whopping $2824, the most expensive Band-Aid I ever had. They did not even do the Stitching or anything necessary. Unless you are definitely dying, avoid going to this Hospital. A classic example of the immorality and failure of our so called 'National Health Care System"- |
