Awards
St Lucie Medical Center is Joint Commission Accredited and has earned the Joint Commission designation as a Primary Stroke Center. The Emergency Department(ED) recently received the Genesis Cup for improvements made in ED wait times, patient care and patient flow. The award was given by EmCare and recognized the "creativity and innovation in the emergency department." The ED Staff was also named "Best Nurse Team 2009" by ADVANCE for Nurses magazine. Last year, United Health awarded St. Lucie two stars (out of a total of three possible) as a United Health Premium Total Joint replacement specialty center. This specialty designation lets consumers know that SLMC exceeds nationally recognized standards of care. |

The Education Department offers a variety of classes for health care professionals, patients and the community. Some programs include, but are not limited to: prenatal education, nutrition, diabetes education, cancer awareness and CPR.
