To Whom it may Concern, I am confused as to why I am being asked to pay Cumberland Memorial for charges that were incurred over five years ago. When I was taken into custody at this facility I was told my insurance would pay for the entire treatment. I stated at the time that I would not accept treatment at this facility if my insurance did not cover the entire treatment. I have multiple witnesses of this conversation. I have not received any invoices since then at my billing address. To elaborate on the subject of Cumberland Memorial, I was given drugs of which I did not consent to, however they made me ingest them if I wanted to have dinner. I also witnessed other patients being forced to take drugs of which they did not consent to. Everyone in the facility was heavily medicated as to not ask questions and they could barely participate in “group” therapy. Also, I have a very close friend who has incurred severe mental issues because of Cumberland Memorial. Personally, I was molested at the Cumberland Memorial facility by my roommate. Nobody came to check on us throughout the day or night. When I went to tell someone, they told me I was “crazy” and that I needed to go back to my room. I did not press charges because they told me I was “crazy”. I ask that the Polk County Court review this letter and allow the patients of the facility some peace. I am not mentally able to talk about my experiences at Cumberland Memorial. I have cancer, which is terrible enough, I cannot recount my experiences at Cumberland Memorial; I want this to be over. |
