My mother passed away at Baptist Desoto on Dec 26, 2015. Her name was Mabel E. Walker. When my mother was initially place in her room alone, she was being tube fed. She couldn't eat, she couldn't drink, and she couldn't throw up. Whenever she received an injection of medication for nausea (Phenergan), she was so incoherent that she didn't even know where she was. There was no way that she could press the nurse's button if she needed help. I was afraid to leave her. I asked one of her doctors if he would transfer her to the icu but he refused. I knew that my mother's condition was deteriorating quickly. I asked 3 different nurses if they knew of any agency that I could call to hire someone to help take care of my mother. They all said that they did not know of any such agency. On Dec 26, 2015 I received a call from Baptist indicating that my mother wasn't doing well. I returned to the hospital and pushed back the curtain surrounding her bed. Her body had been turned around . Her head was facing the foot of the bed and there wasn't even a sheet placed over her body. She was in a fetal position. I didn't know that she had passed away. I don't know how anyone could be so insensitive and heartless. Hospitals often indicate that they are short staffed while delivering patient care. They are short staffed because they make more money that way. I have no idea how hospital management is able to live with this decision. My mother could be alive today if she had received proper and compassionate care from the beginning of her stay at Baptist Desoto. Patients are dying unnecessarily because of situations similar to this. Lives are so much more important than anything material. LIVES ARE AT STAKE !!!!!

The only meds she had was eye drops. They were getting ready to send her back home the next day. Then call me back and asked if she had a do not resuscitate order? I said yes. Called me back again asking me the same question. Then the next call I get a lil' while later they are telling me a bunch of things are wrong she...

  • 9-3-2021 An ambulance transported me to Christus Spohn hospital in Beeville due to breathing issues, severe headaches, fever and confusion. They completely misdiagnosed me even though I was having those symptoms and doctor Joshua J White DO falsified several details on the medical report. Then they had me transported to their psychiatric hospital in Corpus Christi where I was told that my family put me in there and if I didn't take the med's I was never getting out. For three days I was disregar...
