Columbia Hospital was named "Hospital of the Year" by the Palm Beach County Medical Society Services for its outstanding dedication to Project Access, a program of the Medical Society which depends on hospitals and physicians to donate their services to patients who are unable to access medical care. Columbia Hospital is accredited by The Joint Commission and the American Osteopathic Association. The hospital has also been awarded Primary Stroke Center Certification by The Joint Commission. Dr. Mark Moser, a Board Certified Anesthesiologist at Columbia, was named Physician Hero of the Year by the Palm Beach County Medical Society in recognition of hisexceptional humanitarian service to underserved people in Cambodia. Gary Reardon, Director of Surgical Services, received two of the top honors awarded by the Palm Healthcare Foundation—the Leadership Award and the 2008 Nurse of the Year. |

Our Volunteer Mission Statement As Volunteers, our mission is to commit our time and talents in service to Columbia Hospital's patients, staff and guests with the highest regard for the mission and values set forth by Columbia Hospital. Volunteers play a very important role at Columbia Hospital by helping us to provide high quality, cost-effective healthcare to the Columbia Hospital community. They do this a number of ways: Augmenting and expanding the services provided by our staff Providing supplemental services which contribute to patient care and satisfaction Assisting non-patient care departments with clerical support Helping to spread the word about the good things happening at Columbia Hospital within the community To volunteer at Columbia Hospital, you must be at least a high school student, and have your parent's permission. Every new volunteer must undergo a complete background check, and have an annual tuberculosis test. You may stop by the hospital front desk at any time to pick up a volunteer application.
