Visiting Hours

Visiting Hours Information
General visiting hours are from noon to 8:30 p.m. There are special visiting hours and policies in intensive care units and other specialized units. Children may visit if they are free from illness and supervised at all times by a responsible adult. Please check at the nurses' station before bringing children into patient care areas. Do not visit when you are ill, and please be aware there are times when the Medical Center restricts visitors to reduce patients' exposure to "the flu" and other diseases. Rest promotes healing, so please keep noise levels low. Parents as visitors. You are welcome to spend as much time as you'd like with your child during his or her stay at the Medical Center. Parents or grandparents can usually stay overnight in the child's room and a limited number of parent sleep rooms are available. Please ask the nursing staff for details. |

Child Seat Checks, Baby Care Seminar: Getting to know your baby, infant safety and CPR, Nursing Your Baby, Childbirth Preparation, Baby and Me (Brothers and Sisters), Shared Beginnings (brothers and sisters aged 3 and older) Continuing Medical Education: Via Christi Regional Medical Center is authorized to grant CME credits and sponsors grand rounds and many classes, seminars and conferences throughout the year. Home Health:Via Christi Home Health is the largest organization of its kind in Kansas. Our services can help patients make the transition from hospital to home. For example, we can train patients and families in needed medical skill areas. A registered nurse is on call around the clock. Besides the full range of in-home nursing care, our therapeutic services include: Intravenous therapy, Physical therapy, Occupational therapy, Speech therapy, and Dietary consultation. |

Volunteer Information
Via Christi Wichita Health Network provides comprehensive, compassionate care at four Wichita campuses: Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus and St. Joseph Campus, our behavioral health facility, Good Shepherd Campus and Via Christi Rehabilitation Center - Our Lady of Lourdes (rehabilitation services). The time and talents of more than 750 adult and teen volunteers make it possible for the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Wichita to serve the people of Kansas, especially those who are in need. Volunteering offers the opportunity to apply existing skills and talents or learn new roles. Individuals may serve days, evenings or weekends - a range of choices to fit almost any schedule. A comprehensive orientation is provided for each new volunteer. Benefits for volunteers include free parking, a complimentary meal, educational opportunities, free flu vaccinations plus a discount in the flower and gift shops. More importantly, volunteers form new friendships and gain satisfaction in knowing they are touching the lives of others in a meaningful way. |

In the state of Kansas there are nearly 300,000 adults and children with no health insurance. In a healthcare crisis they face tremendous risks.
