Do not visit when you are ill, and please be aware there are times when the Medical Center restricts visitors to reduce patients' exposure to "the flu" and other diseases. Rest promotes healing, so please keep noise levels low. Parents as visitors. You are welcome to spend as much time as you'd like with your child during his or her stay at the Medical Center. Volunteer Information

Via Christi Wichita Health Network provides comprehensive, compassionate care at four Wichita campuses: Via Christi Regional Medical Center-St. Francis Campus and St. Joseph Campus, our behavioral health facility, Good Shepherd Campus and Via Christi Rehabilitation Center - Our Lady of Lourdes (rehabilitation services). The time and talents of more than 750 adult and teen volunteers make it possible for the Sisters of the Sorrowful Mother and the Sisters of St. Joseph of Wichita to serve the people of Kansas, especially those who are in need.

Volunteering offers the opportunity to apply existing skills and talents or learn new roles. Individuals may serve days, evenings or weekends - a range of choices to fit almost any schedule. A comprehensive orientation is provided for each new volunteer.

Benefits for volunteers include free parking, a complimentary meal, educational opportunities, free flu vaccinations plus a discount in the flower and gift shops. More importantly, volunteers form new friendships and gain satisfaction in knowing they are touching the lives of others in a meaningful way.

Then they had me transported to their psychiatric hospital in Corpus Christi where I was told that my family put me in there and if I didn't take the med's I was never getting out. For three days I was disregar...
