Public Health - a system of socio-economic and medical measures whose purpose to preserve and improve the health of populations, the functioning of which is ensured by the presence of personnel, material and technical base, certain organizational structure, appropriate technologies and the development of medical science.
In general, health is determined not only by the normal functioning of the health system, but depends on the level of civilization, scientific and technological progress, socio-economic development of the country, the legal culture and the responsibility of citizens for their health.
Prevention and timely effective treatment of diseases allow to keep Labor resources of society and thereby prevent or reduce material losses resulting from the separation of workers from their duties.
Due to changes in living conditions and the global scientific and technological progress has changed the nature of the pathology. The leading place in the structure of morbidity and causes of death of the population have occupied circulatory system diseases, nervous and mental diseases, malignant neoplasms, industrial, transport and household injuries, respiratory diseases.
Effective control of these diseases is inconceivable without progress in medical science, the development of material and technical base of public health, equipping its arsenal of means of prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases, coordination and integration of health services, the development of a number of national programs that provide health development in accordance with the requirements of the time.
