Dr. William O Lee, MD

I was a patient for Dr. Lee about two years ago. I normally would only see him for small things like a stomach virus but... since I was new to the area and all of my specialist were over an hour away I thought I would ask him for a few recommendations for a neurologist and for an orthopedic surgeon. Immediately he kind of chuckled and said " No doctor I know would take you as a patient." Umm ok.. I've never heard a doctor tell a patient something like that so I was very offended but just blew it off. I assume it was because I was only 18 and maybe he thought I was looking for narcotics but there is still no excuse to speak to a patient in that manner. After he denied giving me a referral I requested he do a MRI on my back so he could see for him self the issues I have. Once again he refused and only ordered an x-ray. I calmly explained to him I have had several x-rays and MRI's and my problems are more visible by MRI. I am paying for the test so I see no problem in running it if I request it. I took the x-ray and the report came back as nothing wrong, he then suggested i just go see a chiropractor. I then mentioned my killer migraines and he immediately snapped back saying I'm a hypochondriac and need to see a psychiatrist because this pain was all made up in my head. I was completely stunned and from that point on never stepped foot in his office. Since seeing him I have had several MRI's of my spine showing I have a severe case of degenerative disc disease and arthritis through out the whole spine and will be needing surgery to replace a disc. I also had an MRI of my head showing I have a rare brain malformation called Chiari Malformation and a 12mm mass on my brain stem. Now doc let me school you a little bit since you CLEARLY have no right to even be a practicing physician. Unfortunately for me you were wrong, its not all in my head. My brain is to big to fit in my skull so my cerebellum is now protruding into my spinal column with a herniation of 19mm. My CSF flow has almost completely stopped and I have a very large syrinx in my spinal cord. I also have found out i have a case of spina bifida in the upper portion of my spine. I am now 2 months post op from my brain surgery where I had to have a huge chunk of my skull removed to relieve the pressure from my brain and prevent me from becoming a quadriplegic in just a few short years. I also had to have room made for my cerebellum and two fairly large pieces removed from my C-1 and C-2. For my sake luckily that huge mass on my brain is not cancerous but will have to still be removed by another brain operation. So thank you doc for being so educated within your field of work. By the way I am absolutely looking into a medical malpractice suit. Every doctor I have talked to about this is completely stunned that any doctor in their right mind would speak to a patient the way you have. I hope you can sleep well at night knowing you misdiagnose patients with life altering diseases. more details
