I didn't see Dr. Belfar but I did meet with another doctor who was attentive and thorough.
However, I desperat...ely needed to get in touch with him on a Friday and left two messages on the office's machine, so did my pharmacist. The greeting says that the doctor's office reps will get back to you at the end of the day, but they didn't get back to me.
I finally got in touch with one of the receptionists on Monday. As it turns out,my doctor was out of town for a few days. The receptionist had not thought to return my call on Friday to tell me this, despite the fact that I told them in my message that my situation was serious. She set me up with an appointment to see Dr. Belfar the next day.
When I arrived, Dr. Belfar was not there but a nurse was. She was curt and asked me all of two questions before telling my pharmacy on the phone that she was lowering my dose. When she hung up, I told her that I did NOT want my dose lowered and she said "OK, I'll change it" and typed something into the computer.
When I went to the pharmacy however, my prescription was for a few tablets of a very low dose instead of a months-worth of my regular dose. She had also slightly changed the prescription of one of my other medications. My local pharmacy hooked me up with a few more pills to tide me over 'till I get my next prescription, again.
Bottom line: I am NEVER going back to East Side Psychiatric Services.
P.S. I don't know how many times they took down my basic information. Why not just pull up my file?more details
