Dr Mostek specializes in helpimg addicts overcome their addictions with suboxone treatment. His main priority should be ...to help the patient stay clean. He makes it real hard. I had an appt scheduled on a thurs to get my refill. When I arrived I was told I had no appt in the system, even though they printed me out an appt reminder from their computer after leaving my last visit 2 weeks prior! I was unable to be seen and they made me reschedule for the following Monday. By then my medicine was gone and I was already in withdrawls. When I arrived Monday I lost my debit card that day in the middle of a storm and tornado warning. I was unable to make my $25 copay. I've never had a problem paying any of my balances in the past but they still would not see me! This was an emergency situation that he simply did not care about. Even the recpeptionist explained my situation to Dr. Mostek and reminded him that the decision to see me with or without a copay was ultimately up to him and reminded him it was clearly an extenuating circumstance. He still refused! My insurance covers 95% of the visit and the copay could have been paid the very next morning but he didn't care. For an addict in recovery, getting my life back together is extremely difficult. Physically, spiritually, emotionally, mentally and of course finacially. I would think he may have some sympathy and treat me like a human being. After all addiction is a disease that I'm beating and this medicine keeps me off opiates and is saving my life! This is something I would expect from a drug dealer on the street, not a health professional who claims he is here to help his patients. I truly believe he is only there because of the large demand for suboxone in this area. As a matter of fact, on my first visit I asked him why he is in this medical field? He replied, "Because there is a huge demand for this medicine and a large profit margin that follows." Really Dr.? I expected him to answer that he wants to help people, he cares about people or truly wants to help addicts! Which is fine, we all go to work to earn money, it's the american dream. However, for a doctor working with recovering addicts, I would think he would have more compassion and sympathy for our situation. After all, it's not my fault I am an addict but it is my choice to continue to use drugs or not. I choose not to but I cannot do it alone. That is why I came to see Dr. Mostek in the first place! He never asks how I'm doing, how i feel, how my life or work is going, how do I feel about being clean, nothing!...All he wants to know is if I'm current on my bill, staying clean and attending his group, which is an extra $40 to sit around with other addicts and talk about our previous use of drugs. I remember one time in particular after 2 weeks of clean time, I told him that I recieved a promotion at work and he said "Stop talking about that, I only have a limited amount of time." Unbelievable!! He seriously needs some training on how to not just deal with addicts, but how to talk to people and treat them with respect period. Unfortuanley he is one of the very few doctors in the area who perscribes this certian medicaiton so our options are limited as to who we can see. I would recomend you go elsewhere. Even their counselor Peggy is terrible. For a couselor she has no compassion nd acts like she can't stand to even talk to you. However that is a whole different story. Stay away from Dominion, Dr Mostek and Peggy if you can. Go see Dr. Hallman at Meridian. He is a recovering addict and truly cares about you and wants to help you stay clean. Also he does far more than just perscribe you medication.more details
