The Spine and & Sports Medicine Physical Therapy Center is an amazing place. Dr. Scott Schuessler and his colleagues an...d staff design individual programs for each patient’s special needs. Unlike many of today’s 10 minute doctor visits, Scott and company listen, consult, and put a strategy in place to put their patients back into action. I entered the center with three neck vertebrae pinching my nerve running to my left arm. With intense, throbbing pain spinal pain, an hour or two of sleep each night for two weeks, sensation vastly diminished in my left arm, and impending neck surgery, I enlisted Dr. Schuessler’s aid. Within a week of physical therapy, the pain began to recede from my shoulder and spine (far sooner than any pharmaceuticals were working). Within three weeks, sensation returned to my left arm and I was able to rotate my head without pain in my back and neck.
The staff knows patients names as they enter the center. They share a positive sense of humor and a common mission to return individuals to good health. They put the time into each case to maximize the strength of their expertise and the success of their treatment. I think primary care centers and physicians could learn something about quality care from this treatment center.
