If Dr. Morales gets a 3/5, this site's evaluation of cardiac surgeons is very bad.
Dr. Morales is one of the be...st 10 cardiac surgeons in the Bay Area, and I only say
'10' because my surgery was 12 years ago, when people said he was one of the best 4 or 5. No doubt new people and new surgeries make for new #1s, but Morales has been very progressive in adopting new techniques, has kept Good Sam up in its ratings as a cardiac center.
Convenience, judgment of knowledge and skill, shared decision making and communication all depend on exchanges of information, so the evaluation is very likely to depend on the knowledge and experience of the evaluatee.
Most people are not heart specialists, and surgeons are medicine's geeks. Morales always gave me good advice, but sometimes it took a while to understand it.
