With much excitement, I made an appt with Dr Weston after reading 3 positive reviews. Sadly, after my visit Dr. Robert W...eston has officially made the top of my list of doctors to never see again & is on my do not recommend list.

He was 100% inappropriate in the way he treated me during the visit. I have never in my life had a medical doctor treat me the way he did! If you know my medical history, that says a lot. I was in a fatality car wreck when I was age 16 that should've killed me. I was in critical condition in ICU for 2 months. That was the beginning of my medical problems so I have experience with hundreds upon hundreds of doctors & hospitals in 3 different states over the last 17 years. Upon my first & only visit, I brought to the appt the ER papers & the pain RX bottle so he would know what recently happened.

Before he even looked at the papers, he immediately & I mean immediately began treating me very inappropriately & speaking to me in a very unprofessional manner. He indirectly but very persistently throughout the visit accused me of seeking drugs.

First off, I've hated pain meds since I was a teenager. I've minimally taken them over the last 17 years mostly only after all the surgeries I've had and/or when nothing else helps the unbearable pain. Second, my mother died in 2008 at the age of 45 due to RX pain medication overdose. I despise pain meds. I told him, "I usually don't take pain meds & just deal with the pain." He said to me, "I don't believe that."

What?! Who does this doctor think he is?! That's only 1 example of all of his statements that he said to me throughout the visit that were uncalled for. The way he spoke to me got so bad that I eventually said to him, "I do not appreciate the way you have been treating me this whole visit." He immediately acknowledged his wrongdoing & apologized with an explanation as to why he was treating me that way. He also added, "I just had to be sure."

Ok, thanks Dr Weston for intentionally treating me like some junkie drug addict from the street in your La Jolla practice & then apologizing for it. You really know how to win patients over and make them feel safe & comfortable.

Dr. Weston even threatened me at one point. He said, "At anytime I can obtain your RX history report & see if you've been taking pain meds." I told him to go obtain it because you will find nothing. What a jerk. Please do not give this doctor any business. I don't care if he has 3 prior positive reviews; those patients obviously have no chronic physical aliments and/or have never taken pain pills so he didn't have a reason to treat them like trash. Lastly, his secretary also said a couple of inappropriate statements to me. The fact that she acted similar to him makes me question the ethics of this entire clinic.

I wonder how many patients Dr. Weston and his secretary have treated this way? What a shame. When I got home & told my husband what happened, he was completely appalled that a medical doctor (in La Jolla of all places) treated me that way. Please do not give this clinic your business. You will find better doctors in the San Diego area who also know how to treat their patients with respect and kindness so go to one of them instead not this one.

No, I do NOT recommend La Jolla Medical Clinic and Dr Robert Weston (secretary included).
