Dr. Beatty did eye lid lift surgery on both lids. The next week I had to call as a bigboil like thing came up on th...e lid in the stiches line on my left eye. As I left the bathroom miirror to show my husband it broke open and blood went all in my eye. I always heard of something like this one could lose their sight and it scared me. I phoned and got his answering service. She immediately got him on the phone. His first words to me after I described what was happening was "Do you know it IS Sunday Morning"? What? He was noticably aggitated which I couldn't understand, but I went about telling him about what was happening thinking he probably would want me to come to the ER. No. He told me I probably had an infection and he would call in an RX. As my husband was getting the number for Publix Pharmacy he came around the corner and said "honey, remember they do not open until 10 or 11am". I gave the phone number to Dr. Beatty as I held a gauze pad on my eyelid to try and stop the bleeding. As I gave the number to him I relayed what my husband had said about the time. Dr. Beatty changed tones from already aggitated to worse and said this to me. "You mean you called me on a SUNDAY MORNING AT 8AM! AND NOW YOU ARE TELLING ME THE PHARMACY DOESN'T OPEN UNTIL 10 OR 11?? I jumped back and was in tears as I have never had a doctor talk to me that way ever. Now I could understand him hanging up the phone and moaning to his wife that he was bothered on a Sunday morning at 8 am BUT not to a patient who was clearly in distress. His staff worked me in the next day to see him per his instructions prior to his hanging up. Of course I was worried and a wee bit fragile after all it is my eyes we're talking about. Dr. Beatty finally entered after a long long wait and do you know he would not even come up to me to look me in the eye? He set down at the door and talked from there. Did not check my eye or eyelid. Just said "You have an infection take the antibiotics" and that was it. As he started out the door and I was starting to get up he stuck his head back around the door and said this. "AND....DON'T EVER CALL ME ON A SUNDAY MORNING AGAIN"! I never went back. I went to a friend's doctor and he told me that I had STAPH INFECTION. Put me on something else and after a seried of visits and treatments to him lasting over two months my eyelid finally healed. The sad thing about it is my left eyelid never raised all the way back up to normal. It never was half way closed at all during my lifetime until now. And what should have taken no more than a few weeks to heal left me fighting staph infection from the stiches to healing it was more than 3 months. This was not right and his attitude was less than ethical and caring was absent all the way. From my own personal experience, I would never recommend this doctor with poor skills and attitude to anyone.more details
