I was admitted at Thayer Campus for a surgery that another surgeon was doing. They gave me a medication called Versed (I... am not sure the correct spelling) which makes you sleepy and and relaxed before a procedure. Be careful with this anesthesiologist. She made a note in my chart to not give me narcotics after surgery for pain because I appeared to be “sleepy” in pre-op. AFTER they gave me meds to make me do so. Of course, my amazing doctor/surgeon who knows my history, still prescribed me pain meds because she knows me and my history and knows what could possibly be making me sleepy besides that medication (I also have an illness that causes severe tiredness) The fact she went out of her way to tell the surgeon to not prescribe me pain meds because I’m sleepy and then went on to say I should lower my dose on another medication (for one of my medical problems) due to being sleepy. Again, her TEAM prescribed me versed to make this happen then blames me and other meds for it and tried to make it so I suffered in pain after surgery. I will be making a formal complaint about her. This was not acceptable and if she can’t look in someone’s chart to see “hey she has this medical illness that causes fatigue” then she shouldn’t be allowed to make medical decisions regarding a patient. I would request to not be seen by her if you have any medical illness that causes you to be tired and may show up to surgery (after not eating because you can’t for over 12 hours or fluids) very tired especially after given relaxation meds. She will go out of her way to try to make sure you’re in pain afterwards. I do want to point out that I’ve had this SAME surgery at a different hospital 3 other times and never once had this issue. It was this specific woman.more details
