I've been to St. Joseph's for an emergency case before. The staff was very courteous, and efficient. We were even seen i...n an acceptable amount of time. However, with this last visit, which was for my mother; we waited nearly 2 hours to get a room (because of ambulance emergencies; acceptable) then another hour before seeing Dr. Schwarzman. He reviewed the paperwork from previous tests ran on my mother, and began talking us through options and procedures. About 5 minutes into that explanation, he found out we didn't have insurance. To put it mildly, he couldn't get out of the room fast enough. He basically said, "Without insurance, no 'normal doctor' will take you." and "You need to just go to county. They'll take care of you." His bedside manner did a complete 180. When he left, my mom and I were in tears. Rather he's a good doctor or not, I wouldn't know. Cause I didn't see a doctor in my opinion.
