My husband has complications from a Liver TIPs procedure. Severe breathing complications when we 1st met with Dr. Forfi...a who stated "I can fix this". Such relief with such a bold statement. Since then my husband no longer is on 24/7 oxygen-he is not on oxygen at all and hasn't been for months and passed his "walking test" with no problem. As a result of Dr. Forfia's keen insight and instincts and of course expertise he has literally breathed new life into him. Unfortunately, my husband has end stage liver disease and continues to have related complications but his water retention has been treated at home with lasix and he has lost apx 85 pounds (mostly water) since apx February. Medically my husband could not be in better hands. Personally, I could not have him in better hands. The one-on-one time he spends with my family to thoroughly explain the entire medical picture, sometimes with a pen and ink drawing to help us understand, the clear, straight forward explanations of what has happened, what is happening and what is expected provides understanding, peace of mind and a roadmap as to what we need to do to support and prepare for his care. Never is he rushed to explain, he has taken countless calls from other doctors to partner with his care each time directing them carefully as to what exactly is happening so not to undo all of the progress. But it is my husband who is confident with this care and trusts all he hears because he feels that he has been heard. I have to add that Dr. Forfia's staff is a mirror image of his interest, his professionalism, his attention, his expertise and they have responded earnestly to all of our concerns in between appointments to guide us in my husband's care. It good to have a good doctor and it's great when his staff is as interested personally and professionally as he is. I know we would not have had all of this extra time with my husband if it weren't for Dr. Forfia.more details
