Dr. Satten was used by United Healthcare to determine the appropriateness of my claim for reimbursement for a new breakt...hrough treatment named TMS (transcranial magnetic stimulation). As my doctor provided a lengthy history of my intolerance to medications' effectiveness after a 2 to 3- year periods, Dr. Satten 's belief is that this treatment should not be covered. As I have been medication free since my preliminary treatment ended in Nov. 2012, this treatment has been extremely effective for me. Reimbursement for this should be included in United Healthcare's arsenal of coverage and Dr. Satten also needs to educate himself on the latest treatments available. TMS is achieved in a doctor's office by specially trained professionals without hospitalization, anesthesia and the very undesirable side effects of electro convulsive therapy which is covered. Not knowing what the exact relationship is between Dr. Satten and United Healthcare, I would NOT recommend this doctor for any psychiatric expertise. more details
