Melia Wallin, PSYD works in Orange, California is a specialist in Clinical Psychology, Family and Marriage Counseling.
Dr. Wallin was unethical and unprofessional. My treatment with her was very basic. I was showing some improvement but I ...do not believe that was due to her expertise but rather because I was commited to my therapy.
She was consistently late and unprofessional on the phone. She made scheduling mistakes causing me to show up to her locked office.
She disagreed with me on a political matter (a topic of discussion in session because a personal situation had been causing me distress).
She got upset with me on the phone, when I truly was not concerned about the subject. And she dropped me as a patient with no further communication or reference to another therapist.
My experience with Dr. Wallin was saddening, and made me lose trust in the field of talk therapy for quite some time. more details
The results of my care were condescending and I was talked down to add diagnoses where forced upon we as she talked down... to me and rolled her eyes. When I called yesterday about the records I requested in writing, she did not respond because she said in the middle of her Kristi, Kristi, Kristi, as if I were a toddler, I couldn't send you records because I did not know who requested them, Although my correct name, address and signature were noted. She so no longer contract my Dr. Petraglia,, although they work in the same building and she could have easily obtained my phone number from that office. They informed me that several patients had the same complaints and asked not to see Dr. Melia again. Unfortunately, after speaking with her and most times she was alone with me and the dr was not in the room, I would walk out angry by her games of semantics, labeling, absolutely positive about my diagnoses which I found in the notes to list Borderline personality disorder and Bipolar one, as well as continuous suicidal ideations, where if I was a danger to myself or other, should have resulted in a mandatory 5150, 72 hour hold. To be ridiculously critical of her notes she mentioned that I was taking motocross classes and would not share physical injuries that never occurred when I explained to her that it was a street bike on asphalt. No comparison and no jarring in dirt or mud. I am aware of her mind games, but those that are coming in with a newly diagnosed mental condition looking for help and thinks Dr. in front of her name with be of absolute help to them scares me. I can not in good conscience allow Dr Melia to hurt anyone else. more details
