There should be an option for negative star ratings for doctors like this. This woman was my first experience with a tru...ly monstrous and abusive, even mentally unsound and downright viscous towards her patients. She is the most dangerous type of doctor there is...a sociopath who enjoys inflicting pain upon others she deems beneath her. I was pregnant with my third child when I went to her. I had a very complicated history and needed a genuinely intelligent and caring doctor. She did not take any of my history seriously and laughed in my face when I voiced my very real concerns. When my health began going down very quickly she continued to be dismissive and condescending. I almost lost my child at the 7 month mark, and it was a different doctor on call that took care of us, thankfully. When I was still almost 3 weeks away from my due date, she took it upon herself to dismiss the nurse in the room and then began examining my cervix with her fingers. I felt all this sudden pain and pressure and pulling and asked her what she was doing and to stop it. She ignored my pleas and continued until she broke my water without ANY kind of permission from ME, nor had she told me what she was doing until it was too late. I kept passing out while trying to deliver my baby and she could have cared less. Instead she stood next to my bed and decided to pull her shirt up, exposed her navel, and began bragging to me and my husband about how cute her new bellybutton ring is! All while I am struggling to stay conscious while giving birth to my preterm baby. Once the baby was born, she did not clean me out properly and 3 weeks later I almost died from a massive infection in my uterus that had ruptured, allowing infection to spill out into my body. My fever was 106.9 degrees Fahrenheit and no amount of antibiotics would bring it down until they took me to surgery and found the infection and the ruptured uterus. I should have died, but I was saved by Divine intervention so I could one day tell people about doctors just like her. Even after I left the hospital I remained very ill and the infection would return as soon as I would finish each round of oral antibiotics. After going to her for 4 months with the same thing each time, she removed herself as my doctor and I was on my own to find another one who will help me. The new doctor did a biopsy and discovered that I had a deep tissue infection throughout my entire uterus and need IV antibiotic treatment immediately after having the lining frozen to help get rid of the dead and dying tissue. It helped for a little while, but unfortunately this infection never went away. Over the next 7 years, my uterus, cervix and right ovary, was slowly eaten alive from inside out until I was almost dead and I had to have an emergency hysterectomy at the age of 30. When they cut me open and looked at my insides, the doctors said it looked like a bomb had gone off inside me. My uterus literally and truly, fell to pieces in the surgeons hands when he touched it. I was told he'd never seen anything like it and that it was a miracle I was still alive. What doctor Brooks did to me and my children, and who knows how many other women, is an atrocity. It is more difficult in the state of Texas to sue a negligent doctor, than in any other state. This is the only reason she still has license. She is a criminal and should be prosecuted as one. It has been almost 20 years since she did that to me and I am STILL suffering from the consequences of her barbaric and incredibly careless dangerous actions. Seeing the other reviews about her behavior doesn't surprise me and it very could be why she now works at the VA. An insider told me that is where they put doctors who cannot work anywhere else because their negligence caught up with them.
I shudder to think of many lives have been hurt and even destroyed by this person who should have never been allowed to practice medicine. There is a lot more than what I've shared here, but I think this says enough.
If you're reading this, please stay away from her and tell EVERYONE the same thing.
If someone wishes to share my story, you are free to do so, for educational purposes only. I believe we all reap what we sow, and she will not escape the inevitable consequences of her abominable behavior towards her own patients and fellow human beings.

This dr. was rude, and acted unconcerned about me as a patient. She was rushy, she made me feel dumb. Dr. Brooks showed ...no empathy, nor did she display courteousness.

She was cold and distant.
