Dr. Lawrence S Halperin, MD

I am a workers comp patient that was already diagnosed with a TFCC tear by Dr. Riggenbach. I went to see Dr. Halperin (a... colleague of Dr. Riggenbach's) for my pre-op appointment after already undergoing 6 months of conservative treatment. Upon Dr. Halperin entering the room he immediately asked me what I did for a living. I explained that I was a teacher in Orange County. He replied "What is it with you teachers, you're my 4th "got hurt on the job" patient in a couple of weeks, I didn't know teaching was so dangerous." He did not have my chart or my arthogram films, he was browsing over Dr. Riggenbach's notes when he asked me what pain I was experiencing. When I proceeded to explain he interrupted me and started telling me what I was experiencing. He took my injured wrist and began to push on it so hard that I was in excruciating pain. He snapped at me to look away from my hand while he proceeded to squeeze and push on the side of my wrist until I had marks all over the side of my wrist. He tried to tell me that I had tennis elbow, not a TFCC tear, and that my hand weakness was caused by me being "middle aged" due to natural loss of strength, I am 43 years old, and have always been active and in great shape. I would hardly say someone in their early 40's is middle aged. He wanted to give me a cortisone injection of which I refused out of fear of him putting his hands on me again. My husband and I walked out of his office feeling so disturbed and traumatized. I seriously feel violated and victimized by how he put his hands on me and deliberately bruised my wrist. I am literally traumatized by this visit! Seeing all of these reviews that are so similar to my experience is really alarming. So many complaints of being physically harmed and verbally abused by Dr. Lawrence Halperin shows a definite pattern of disturbing sadistic behavior. My husband and myself reached out to his practice to inform them of what Dr. Halperin did to me and they assured me they are looking into the matter. I am only going to see Dr. Riggenbach from now on and what Dr. Halperin did to me does not reflect in any way how I feel about Dr. Riggenbach.
