Doesn’t care enough about the patient to give an honest assessment of their condition. If a patient’s situation... realistically only leaves them a few months to live, then as a doctor, you should have the courage to tell them that. When you tell a man in his 80’s he needs chemo and radiation and he spends that last few months of life sick and all you have to say is, oh sorry the treatment didn’t work, leaving him so sick, that what little time he has left, he was is in misery. You’ve given him false hope because you were too much of a coward to tell him the truth. You took the easy way out for yourself so you didn’t’ have to talk about death. He had little time to process what was happening because he was shuffled from treatment to the hospital because the treatment made him so sick that he no time to work through what was going on or to spend any quality time with him family. Once it was determined the treatment didn’t work, you didn’t even bother telling the family for several days because you didn’t want spoil your weekend. You denied his dignity, you denied his family time with him, and you denied his right to choose how to spend the last few months of his life.more details
