Dr ANCHETA has been a disappointment. I could see that he was moody and a bit mean to his front office staff from the f...irst appointment I had with him. I decided to stay with him for about a year. He knows what tests to order and he gets them done fast. His bedside manner is 50-50. I don't mind, maybe he has bipolar or mood problems. His office is nice and his staff has been with him for a long time. BUT! He doesn't commit to his own diagnosis - making him wishy washy. He doesn't spend enough time explaining what in the world is going on with your symptoms and disease processes. He seems burnt out, indifferent, short tempered and he frequently interrupts just moments after I start to tell him a symptom or ask a question. I have a complex History and I am suffering 24/7 right now with crippling pain. I spent days compiling details of my history and current symptoms. I wrote it all out to make it easy on him. I also told him that I have pain medication with a pain doctor so he would realize that I wasn't looking for pills, rather looking for a doctor who would say "hey, this patient has constant pain and there are demyelinating lesions on her MRI in her brain...hmm, maybe I should get to know her better so I can accurately diagnose her and possibly prescribe a medicine that is available that will stop those lesions from increasing." BUT! Again, I didn't get that. Instead I got a neurologist without a fellowship in Multiple Sclerosis or any special training in it telling me "Everyone gets their little aches and pains, let's get you a Lumbar Puncture too."
I've told him about four different times that I do not want that painful test and I'm still waiting for him to give me a reason as how this will help.
Sorry for long story. I left the office blind from the welling up of my tears and shaking. more details
