First impression - Very unconventional office setting and atmosphere. She has two dogs that greet and interact with th...e patients. That’s a pleasant change from a stuffy room and hard chairs.
Initial hint of things to come, required to sign numerous document that stated “she gets paid regardless”. Thoroughly read her office policy. Almost ALL forms of communication outside a session require additional payment. An emailed response to a task she assigned earned a nasty gram about assessing a $10 charge, how busy she is and the importance of her time.
Sessions last around 40 minutes. Second area of concern. The sessions are less about the patient and more about her. At first I thought OK, the “getting to know each other phase”. However after a couple of months there was no change in behavior. She often interrupted to tell stories (repeated over and over) and commentary about herself. The typical session was 5-7 minutes about the patient and the remainder about her. On a few occasions she actually dozes off during the discussion. She very opinionated and not agreeing with her means you’re wrong. She is VERY aggressive in her communication and manners. Not answers a phone call gets you a call on every number registered.
Bottom line; She continued to assure me that therapy would take years (and it may, just not with her)... Why, it’s the money. Not recommend if you’re in need a therapy.more details
