Jolene M Green, LCSW

I met with Jolene Green back in 1998 when my wife and I were attempting to save our marriage. My wife had just given bi...rth to our baby daughter a year earlier and her Mother had passed away two month before. There were signs of Postpartum depression from these events but that was not properly or professionally considered in her examination of my wife.

All I can say with complete truth and candor, Ms. Green was absolutely the worst counselor and is a total discredit to the profession for how she counseled us and in particular me. She may have learned since then and the goal of this post is not to disparage her but to share with others my ordeal with hopes that maybe others won't experience what I experienced.

BE AWARE that her credentials "LCSW" are not marriage counseling credentials -- but a social worker so she does not have the education and should not even be offering her services to people who's marriage may be in the balance and may be worsened by her services.

Now many of you may not want to believe what I am about to tell you -- but IT IS THE GOD HONEST TRUTH.

After explaining that it was my wife who I found cheating on me (and I forgave her and my friend) Ms. Green replied directly at me with the following insulting comment:

"What is the matter with you? Does your wife have to F#CK someone to get your attention?".

I was so traumatized by her callous statement that I broke down, openly cried and pleaded that we need to try and FORGIVE and not attack each other. She disagreed and did nothing to try and teach us how to reconcile our differences and rebuild our trust and save our marriage that was being threatened.

Until recently (15 years later) have I ever been secure enough to meet with another counselor because of what she said to me. While I know that people's words cannot harm you, people like Ms Green if not professional and careful can gain your trust and when you are open and vulnerable can seriously mess with your mind.

Her malicious comments and tactless methods were in my opinion was a primary reason why we got divorced (with a 1 year old baby) soon thereafter.

Since meeting the absolutely professional and staff at The Turning Point I have been able to rid my fears of people like Ms. Green.

I write this to all of you who are considering meeting with Ms. Green and warn you (without slander and with any due respect) be very careful about the issues you want to address with so called therapists who like Ms. Green can destroy your marriage or cause indelible harm to your integrity.
