I would recommend Dr. Stathas to anyone wishing to improve their outlook on life.

My husband and I used Dr. Stathas for premarital counseling upon the referral of my husband's friend that used him. I w...as disappointed in the fact that he charges 150.00 an hour- yet, he was very misleading about taking insurance- He said I could file it with my insurance company- I work for a pharmaceutical company, and my admin laughed at me and asked this guy are you sure he is in the medical field? He should know patients can't submit payments directly to insurance companies for payment of services. He has to verifiy the treatment and submit the codes directly to the insurance company. I just wished he would have been more upfront I find that troubling since we spent almost 900.00 dollars- I just don't like the idea of going to a therapist that is that aggressive with his fees- its like he needs to support his lifestyle by sticking it to his clients- We didn't really have that extra kind of money to be doing that and he knew that. He should have referred us to someone else when we told him we worried about finances. No sliding scale is not acceptable in my book either- Don't waste your time- He is a glorified salesman acting as a therapist. He is bold with his opinions which I find troubling since he only meets you for 50 minutes- How can you make suce bold opinions when you really don't know more details

Dr. Stathas doesn't take medical insurance so 145.0 flat no matter what financial shape your in- He says you can file it... with your insurance but he knows he doesn't take insurance which in my opinion it is very expensive money for a therapist that wants you to come in repeatedly for therapy. I think any reputable therapist should take insurance considering they want you to come in multiple times. He may not want to deal with filing but who wants to make his car or house payment monthly? more details
