On 1/24/18 my mother had an elective heart valve repair, the surgery went very wrong, what should have taken four hours ...took nearly ten hours and my mother needed 22 pints of blood. She was intubated for nine days and sedated. They attempted to wake her up and could not do so. They inserted a trachea in the ICU where she lay in a coma like state for 50+ days, she had three seizures and the auto blood pressure cuff burst open her arm artery. This took an additional two surgeries to repair. A bone infection set in, along with kidney failure and many other infections. Long story short she died on day #128 from complications from the heart value surgery.more details
