Dr. Jeffrey L Rockmore, MD works in Albany, New York is a specialist in Plastic Surgery and graduated Albany Medical College in 1992. Dr. Rockmore is affiliated with Albany Medical Center Hospital, Saint Peter's Hospital and practicing for 31 years
In August of 2009 I had primary rhinoplasty done by Rockmore. I asked for a bump removal, a lowered bridge, a gentle upt...urn, and a reduction of the thickness of the septum and tip. The only two things he did for me were remove the bump and lower the bridge. Other than those things, everything else was a disaster.
When surgery was complete, Rockmore told my parents in the waiting room that he "battled with the tip." Little did we know that the aforementioned statement meant, "I did your tip incorrectly."
Immediately after surgery, I noticed an indent on the tip of my nose. About a month or two later, that indent grew and became a ball of hanging scar tissue. About two years post-op, said ball of hanging scar tissue became painful. So much so, that I returned to Rockmore to have him address it. Instead of helping me, he purposely dodged me by telling me to come back in 6 months if it grew anymore. Sure enough, it continued to grow and became more painful. When I returned to him half a year later, he said that the painful ball of scar tissue was an ingrown nose hair and that no doctor would ever be able to help me!!! Furthermore, Rockmore took no responsibility for his error and lacked sympathy for me. Shortly after hearing Rockmore's absurd response, I went to Dr. DeLuca in Albany who removed the so-called "ingrown nose hair." He confirmed that it was a ball of scar tissue and said that it grew as a result of Rockmore sewing the right nostril lower than the left nostril. Additionally, Deluca stated that Rockmore wouldn't help me because there was no monetary benefit (DeLuca helped me without charge).
Though I am grateful to DeLuca for having removed the scar tissue in the fall of 2011, I have to have revision rhinoplasty performed by Dr. Bennett in NYC this June (June 2013). Aside from one nostril being lower than the other thus causing scar tissue to form, my tip is still twisted to the right, the right nostril has more flesh on the side and the opening is nearly closed, the upturn that I had completely fell down, both the tip and bridge are very bulbous due to scar tissue, and, worst of all, my right nasal valve collapsed which has rendered me unable to breath out of my right nostril for 4 years.
Moreover, thanks to Rockmore's desire for money, his incompetence, and his negligence, he has caused me to pay $20,000 for a revision surgery. Stay away from this doctor!!! more details
