ASHEBORO —An Asheboro physician and an office manager with his practice were charged on March 23 with financial wrongd...oing, according to a report from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
Dr. Imran P. Haque, 39, 1830 Monarch Lane, Asheboro, of Horizon Internal Medicine, was charged with four counts of obtaining property by false pretense, four counts of financial identity fraud and four counts of forgery and uttering a forged document. Haque was placed under $100,000 secured bond, but his attorney was able to obtain a bond reduction over the weekend and Haque is free under $20,000 secured bond, said Randolph County Sheriff Maynard Reid.
The office manager, Tonya Beasley Gantt, 38, 8246 U.S. 311, Archdale, was charged with four counts of financial identity fraud, four counts of aiding and abetting financial identity fraud and four counts of obtaining property by false pretense. She was released under $20,000 secured bond.
Horizon Internal Medicine has offices in Asheboro and Ramseur. Reid declined Tuesday to elaborate on the nature of the charges or whether the charges are connected to the medical practice.
