Dr. Phan is the most unprofessional person I have ever come across in my entire life. We were up there in mid October an...d were seen by a relief optometrist Dr. Michelle Garcia. We explained to Dr. Garcia that I was going to be at MD Anderson Cancer Center getting a stem cell transplant and that was the reason for the eye care visit. I needed glasses as I am not allowed to wear contacts for awhile. When she ordered my trial pair of contacts, I was told they would take a few weeks to arive. I explained that by the time they were here, I would be admitted to the hospital for 1-2 months. I was in there for 45 days. I asked if my caregiver could come and pick up the contacts and she said yes. She said that when ever she was able she could go and pick them up and she would wave the $25 trial follow up fee since I could not make it up there myself as I will be immunosupressed for a long while and have to be careful going out to public places. This week I sent my caregiver up there to try and pick up my contacts and they tried to charge her $25 after they tried to withhold them from her altogether. The Dr who owns this clinic was not in at the time so I called today to speak with her and she was unbelievably rude. She told me that my problems were not hers. That she wasnt my mother or father and didn't have to worry about me all she had to worry about was paying her employees. She raised her voice and talked over me and threaten to hang up the phone. After going through a serious procedure like a stem cell transplant and then literally almost losing my life to an infection a month later, why would I lie and try to scam her out of $25. I requested Dr. Garcia's contact information so that I could try to get this straightened out and Dr. Phan refused the information to me. She had no interest what Maria had been through. No care that after her trial lenses she would need to order actual lenses, so thats a lot more than $25 lost on her own part. No compassion. I am appalled at the attitude and behavior shown and it's a shame that Wal-Mart has no control over it's affiliates because in essence it reflects poorly on them as well. I would never recommend that clinic and Dr. to ANYONE. more details
