If you have anything remotely complex, go as far away from this doctor as possible. I cannot stress enough my distaste ...for this physician - whom I originally trusted. In addition to what other surgeons have called poor surgical and post-operative decisions, his demeanor was that of an arrogant teenager. When I began to have serious issues after a surgery performed by Dr. Evangelista, I was led to believe that 1) I was a head case and 2) Pain Management was my only option. After hearing of my issues, he literally wiped his hands clean of me and tried to shove me off to Pain Management. This would've been acceptable had he made even a slight effort to get to the root of the problems. Dr. Evangelista missed (or overlooked/ignored) a non-union of a fracture he "fixed" and grossly mishandled a severe case of arthrofibrosis. Had I remained under the care of Dr. Evangelista, I would likely be permanently disabled. However, I am now under the care of a renowned surgeon at TOCA (highly recommended), who has had the unfortunate task of putting the pieces back together. I just underwent my 5th surgery to finally completely correct the mess that Dr. Evangelista created. Run, walk or crutch FAR away from this surgeon.more details
