Dr. Plecha has a poor bedside manor, has a major ego problem, does not read the other doctors' charts before recommendin...g vascular surgery. Imagine telling an 87 year old woman and her family that she has an 97% chance of a successful surgery while not consulting with cardiologist and primary care doctor. Well, it turned out that the surgery and its aftermath did not go well. My mother lived a hellish existence for the last three years in a nursing home before she finally died. And come to find out that she did not need the surgery to survive. It was not an emergency! If Dr. Plecha would have consulted other doctors involved in my mother's case and read the medical records he or at least a reasonable surgeon would have realized my mother was not a candidate for surgery. And had a better than 88% chance of living a normal life if there had been no surgery. Despite my mother's age she had full cognitive function, could drive a car, walk, go shopping. Stay away from Dr. Ferdinand Plecha if you care about your loved ones and yourself. This doctor is driven by a massive ego. Please stay away from him. Just as shameful is that Southwest (Hospital) Heath Care Center, Middleburg Heights, Ohio conducted an internal investigation and found Dr. Plecha free of negligence along with other doctors that could have stopped this surgery.
