Everyone needs a doctor they can count on, trust and who's compassionate with their patients. Dr. David Dranetz a psychi...atrist in Bryan Texas is NOT one of those doctors. Dr. David Dranetz is also with the Texas A&M Physicians and was my doctor for five months. Dr. David Dranetz took an oath to help people and not only did he hurt me he hurt my family. I’m a single parent raising a child.
Dr. Dranetz refused to return any of my phone calls, which led to me to being fired from my job where I worked at for seven years. I lost my insurance and now I’m unable to get treatment for my disability. I put my life into the hands of Dr. David Dranetz and that was a mistake! If you want a doctor who doesn't care and just gives up on his patients, then Dr. David Dranetz in Bryan Texas is that doctor.
The last visit with Dr. David Dranetz he had put me on a new medication. About two weeks later I started experiencing serious side effects and missing days off from work. Later I started to go into a severe depression and missing more days off from work. When I started to experience the side effects, I called Dr. David Dranetz office numerous times for several days and neither he nor his staff would ever call me back. Dr. David Dranetz office is a 40 minute drive from my house.
I also requested Dr. Dranetz to assist me getting on intermediate leave of absence from work. My first doctor help get me on intermediate leave of absence a couple years ago because of my disability, it saved me from losing my job! I sent the paper work request for intermediate leave of absence to Dr. Dranetz by fax, letter and I still did not receive a reply from Dr. Dranetz or his staff.
Around this time I was terminated from my job for missing days off from work because of something beyond my control "side effects from the medication, then severe depression from the medication prescribed under the care of a doctor. The type of medication I was taking, says not to stop taking unless you first consult your doctor." I couldn't get Dr. Dranetz or his staff to return my phone calls.
A few days later I get a call from Dr. Dranetz staff on the day of my next scheduled appointment informing me that Dr. Dranetz the psychiatrist has canceled my appointment for that afternoon he has also canceled all future appointments and medication refills. The staff member said Dr. Dranetz doesn’t want to see me as a patient any longer. I requested to talk to Dr. Dranetz to ask him a few questions and the staff member said he will not talk to you. I "convinced" the staff member for Dr. Dranetz to call me and he did about five minutes later.
Dr. Dranetz said you had a question? I replied yes what happened to you, why didn’t you get back with me about the side effects from the medication you prescribed and my severe depression? Dr. Dranetz replied "well I think what I can tell you.... it seems what you're expecting out of treatment and what I feel I can provide for you are not matching up. I'm asking you to find a new doctor." I asked Dr. Dranetz are you saying that over a week ago when I started calling you for help about the medication you prescribed to me, you already had fired me as a patient without telling me? Dr. Dranetz replied yes.
Dr. Dranetz said as far as the “intermediate leave of absence,” I don’t believe in that because it’s not a treatment. "Dr. Dranetz is correct it's not a treatment, it's just something that helps someone with a disability to keep their job as allowed by Federal law. I can't force Dr. Dranetz to sign something he doesn't believe in. Maybe it's because he's not aware of what the Federal government’s purpose on intermediate leave of absence is meant to be used for?”
Dr. Dranetz never contacted me to advise me that he had terminated his services between doctor and patient. Dr. Dranetz should have at least called me to inform me and given me the opportunity to locate a better doctor to help me. Dr. David Dranetz was deliberately refusing to help one of his patients in a time of need and this is unacceptable and unethical.
